Preliminary preparation
Safety isolation: Before construction, safety isolation facilities must be placed and installed to ensure the safety of construction workers and passing vehicles. The ratio of safety personnel to installation personnel should be determined based on whether the road is open to traffic. For example, if the construction is carried out on a road that is open to traffic, the ratio should be 1:1; if the construction is carried out on a road that is not open to traffic, the ratio should be 1:3.
Location determination: Determine the installation location to ensure that the location is flat, without expansion, gaps, and unevenness. For uneven roads, it is necessary to sort it out in advance.
Surface treatment: Use an angle grinder to grind the installation location, remove about 1-2 mm of the surface layer, and then wipe it with acetone solution and keep it dry to ensure that the road surface is solid and clean.
Configure glue
Glue selection: Usually a special
Reflective Road Studs glue or epoxy resin is used for installation. These glues are divided into two components, AB, which need to be correctly configured and stirred evenly according to the proportion to avoid bubbles.
Glue application: Apply the configured glue evenly on the road surface and
reflective road studs with a thickness of about 2 mm. Be careful not to apply it on the expansion joints of the road surface.
Pasting and fixing
Pasting: Press the
Reflective Road Studs tightly on the installation position to ensure the correct direction. If it is a cast aluminum footed road stud, make sure that the hole depth is at least 25px greater than the foot depth, and the hole diameter is at least 2mm greater than the foot diameter.
Pressing: Apply slight pressure to squeeze the glue out from the periphery of the
road stud to ensure that it is firmly pasted.
Post-inspection
Inspection: Carry out inspections within two hours after installation to ensure that all
Reflective Road Studs are not installed upside down, crooked or pressed.
Curing: After waiting for the glue to cure for 4 hours, remove the installation isolation facilities and put the
Reflective Road Studs into use.
Maintenance of
Reflective Road Studs
Regular inspection
Looseness and deformation: Regularly check whether the
Reflective Road Studs are loose or deformed. If problems are found, they should be replaced or repaired in time.
Reflective performance: Check the reflective surface chromaticity index and reflective coefficient of the road stud to ensure that it can reflect light normally at night or in low light conditions.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Cleaning: Clean the
road studs regularly to remove dust and dirt to avoid negative effects on reflective performance. However, it should be noted that high-pressure water guns and other tools that may damage the road studs should not be used for cleaning.
Replacement: For severely worn or damaged
Reflective Road Studs, they should be replaced in time to ensure road safety and clarity of signs.
Adhesion Check
Adhesion: By sticking self-adhesive tape on the road studs, check whether the friction between the self-adhesive tape and the adhesive tape meets the specified standard to ensure the adhesion of the
road studs.
Handling of special situations
Extreme weather: In extreme weather such as fire prevention and lightning protection, maintenance work on road studs needs to be stopped and related power supplies need to be cut off (such as when the road studs have lighting or communication functions).
